Harry Wilson: The left foot between Leeds' lines
The inside-right geometry suits Harry Wilson's left foot, but Leeds have so far used the proven producer as a tactical variable.

The player and the role
Leeds did not sign a touchline winger. In his only league start, Daniel Farke's 3-4-2-1 placed Wilson as the right No. 10 while Jayden Bogle held the outside lane. Calvert-Lewin pinned the centre-backs. That geometry put Wilson near the striker's right shoulder, where one left-footed action could release Bogle, bend a cross towards the far post or turn a loose clearance into a shot.

How they play
The geometry suits him; the selection does not yet. Wilson started the opening league game for 65 minutes, then returned 45, 17, 18 and zero minutes. Leeds have also used him when chasing a game, replacing a deeper midfielder rather than a winger. In the EFL Cup at Chelsea, a full 90 minutes produced the clean role example: an inswinging corner for Muharemovic's back-post header.
What the numbers tell us
His league sample contains almost nothing to judge: 145 minutes, 0.01 xG and 0.09 xA. The stronger current clue is one assist from 113 EFL Cup minutes, when Leeds have given him longer access to the inside-right lane.
How the role has evolved
Last season, Wilson returned 10 goals and 7 assists from 5.88 xG and 4.77 xA for Fulham. Among 58 FPL-listed midfielders aged 26 to 30, he ranked fourth for goals per 90, 17th for xG and 15th for xA. He added 11 goals and 8 assists across all competitions. The proven producer has become a tactical variable.

Where they can improve
Wilson creates through execution, timing and delivery. He does not create separation through speed. Replacing him with Okafor suggests, but does not prove, that Farke wants more transition pace in one of the two No. 10 slots.
What we’re watching next
This is a status test, not a form test. Starts would restore a proven inside-right producer. Late cameos would define him as Leeds' set-piece and game-state specialist.
